Evenus batesii, found by Mathieu de Goulaine near Quinindé and pictured by Suzi Bond North of Puerto Quito ; identified by Pierre Boyer and Yvan Diringer.
these Evenus batesii from West of the Andes look like those from Mexico and Central America, and are markedly different from those flying in the East
however, the DNA sequencing of a specimen from Mexico did not bring to light any significant difference with individuals from Peru and French Guyana (Christophe Faynel pers. com.).
