it is a very seasonal butterfly, with, sometimes, massive outbreaks ; we witnessed one of those hatchings in february 2019, at Santa Rosa, near San Miguel de los Bancos.
we saw other outbreaks East of the Andes, twice on the North bank near the old Pastaza hanging bridge in October 2006 and September 2007, and also in Colombia, near Cali, and in Peru, near Quincemil.
