wingspan :
Astraptes sp comes from las Juntas, los Cedros and Puerto Quito ; it looks rather like Astraptes fulgerator and A. tucuti but its hair is a strong orange and is more furnished than on other Astraptes "fulgerator".
we did not collect it in NW Ecuador, but we caught one female and three males in Sangay NP ; they could belong to the same species, perhaps the same undescribed species ?
