Echenais thelephus, Lita, Alto Tambo, Chuchuvi, Anchayacu, las Lagunas, Esmeraldas and Calderón.
males are almost identical all over Ecuador, but it is not the case with the females : light coloured and yellowish West of the Andes, reddish in the Oriente, anf red and black in Amazonia (see individual variation page).
