Male

Female

wingspan : male 42/45, female 46 mm

Dismorphia theucharila pallida, los Cedros, Chontal, Puerto Quito, Pedro Vicente Maldonado, Jardín de los Sueños, identified by Keith R. Willmott.

one cannot tell the male of this subspecies from the male of D. th. fortunata which flies in Central America.

moreover, between these two areas flies a completely different subspecies Dismorphia theucharila avonia, and we never saw any intermediate form.

and last, avonia and pallida fly together in the same places.

would it be possible that two or more different species coexist ?
