this extremely rare shot of a female Pterourus birchallii was taken by Ping Ling at Playa de Oro ; but some details on the HW remind us of Pterourus coroebus, a species primarily from Central America, but with a ssp, syndemis, that flies in Western Colombia but has never been recorded from Ecuador.
